“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” ~John 14:27
We all have unknown things in our lives. Some unknown things in our lives might be what college to attend, what God is calling us to do, what we want to do for a career.
We don’t like the unknown. A lot of us fear the unknown. Sometimes we don’t like the unknown because we feel like we don’t have control; we like having control over what is happening in our life.
Through the struggle of not knowing, it allows us to trust and lean on God more.
I think it is important for us as Christians to respond in a positive way to the unknown things in life. People are looking at how we respond to things. In the mist of the unknown, we can keep these three things in mind:
God is TRUE.
In John 14:6 it says, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Even though we might not know what is going to happen in our future, we can trust that whatever God is doing in our life is for a reason—that everything Christ does is true.
God is POWERFUL.
In Psalm 147:4-5 it says, “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.”
If Christ can determine the number of stars in the sky and can call them by name, then He can do anything for you. We see Christ’s power all throughout our life.
God is FAITHFUL.
In Deuteronomy 31:6 it says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
We can trust that God is faithful and will help us with anything. When you feel like no one is there for you, God is. He will never leave us. Can I get an AMEN?
What a mighty God we serve. Our God is so good! He is true, He is powerful, and He is faithful. No matter what we face as Christians, we have a God who will never leave us. A very popular and new Christian song, “Reckless Love,” that echoes these truths says,
“There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down,
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me”
Remember these truths about who God is when you feel like you don’t have a plan. Let his peace drive out any fear. And have faith, trusting that He does have a plan—just for you!
